Spray Charts

Baseball scouting reports have been used by coaches for many years. While there are many types of scouting reports, one of the most commonly used reports is the spray chart. By scouting and tracking a batter’s tendencies, a team can gain an advantage by setting their defense according to historical data. The most common way to use a spray chart has been with paper and pencil. Now there is a better way to sift through the information. FastChart Baseball, tracks every ball in play digitally and displays it in real time. In addition, FastChart keeps a history of the spray chart in the individual player profiles and even allows coaches to add data from there previous paper charts.

The Chart is automatically updated as part of recording a plate appearance. That updated data will then be displayed during the batter’s next plate appearance on the main screen. The Chart is continually updated for every plate appearance when the batter hits the ball. To view the player’s historical data, simply go to the player’s profile page. To add previously collected data, select the edit feature. Here you will be able to add old data you may have collected from paper charts.

Spray Chart Filters

FastChart allows the user to filter the spray chart data. From the player profile page, the user can view and filter by hit type. FastChart users can also easily add spray chart data from old paper charts by using the edit mode. The edit mode allows for the entry of old data so any coach choosing to use FastChart will not lose any previous data collected from standard charts (paper).
